Netflix has gifted viewers with the premiere of “The Witcher: Blood Origin” today on the streaming giant. While you wait for season 3 of “The Witcher” to premiere next summer, check out the spin-off/prequel, a four-part series event.
“Blood Origin” is set 1200 years before “The Witcher” and tells the story of the first Witcher and the events surrounding the “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves became one.
The massive cast includes Minnie Driver (Seanchaí), Laurence O’Fuarain (Fjall), Michelle Yeoh (Scían), Mirren Mack (Merwyn), Sophia Brown (Éile), Lenny Henry (Balor), Jacob Collins-Levy (Eredin), Lizzie Annis (Zacaré), and Joey Batey (“The Witcher,” among others.
Declan de Barra created “The Witcher: Blood Origin” and serves as showrunner for the series.
