The Brazilian horror Lacuna possesses a new trailer ahead of its release sometime later this year. While it looks great, the trailer is tame compared to the film and does not show that the movie is a real gorefest.
Filmed in just two weeks during the pandemic, the film, directed by Rodrigo Lages, centers on a mother-daughter relationship. Sofia’s (Loren Comparato) life is shattered after her mother, Helena (Kika Kalache), has a severe car accident. When her mother returns home, Sofia discovers that her mother is no longer herself and has been possessed by a sinister entity. When doctors can not help, Sofia is forced to seek answers beyond science.
