Olivia Marcum is the latest to join the cast of Blumhouse, Universal, Peacock, and Morgan Creek’s new installment of The Exorcist franchise and is making her film debut, Deadline reports.
The young actress will star in the continuation of the original horror classic alongside previously announced Academy Award nominee Leslie Odom Jr., Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, and Ellen Burstyn, who is reprising her role as Chris MacNeil, mother of Regan.
The film, which has a massive $400 million budget, is the first in a new trilogy and is currently in production with David Gordon Green of the new Halloween trilogy directing. Scott Teems (Halloween Kills, The Quarry), Danny McBride (Halloween Kills, Halloween), and Green teamed up for the film being written by Peter Sattler (Broken Diamonds) and Green.
The new installment of The Exorcist franchise is set to premiere on October 13, 2023.
