Breaking Glass Pictures has snagged the rights to the true crime-inspired horror film Pig Killer starring Jake Busey (“Stranger Things,” Starship Troopers).

The film was inspired by the terrifying true story of the serial killer Robert’ Willy’ Pickton (pictured), the pig farmer and prolific lady killer whose horrific crimes shocked the world. Speaking of shocking, Pig Killer is not for the faint of heart. It graphically depicts the rape, torture, slaughter, and dismemberment of forty-nine young women on a pig farm. With his herculean hog, Balthazar, by his side, Willy and his menagerie of colorful cohorts terrorized Vancouver’s seedy downtown until his arrest, which uncovered a horrific series of brutal murders.

The film was written and directed by Chad Ferrin (Night Caller). Busey stars alongside Bai Ling (The Crow), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Ginger Lynn Allen (The Devil’s Rejects), Michael Pare (The Lincoln Lawyer), James Russo (Open Range), Cyril O’Reilly (NightMan), Susan Priver (Night Caller), Kurt Bonzel (Parasites), John Budinoff (Transamerica), Silvia Spross (Night Caller) and introducing Kate Patel.

The film is from Crappy World/Girls and Corpses/Laurel Wood Films. And is produced by Chad Ferrin, Robert Rhine, and Robert Miano.

The true story: Born in 1949, Robert Pickton began his reign of terror in the 1980s after inheriting the family pig farm. He would rape and murder his victims before chopping them up and feeding them to his pigs, sometimes eating the meat himself and serving it to unsuspecting visitors. He and his brother would often hold parties at the farm, which they registered as part of a charity in 1996 under the name “Piggy Palace Good Times Society.” The parties and events attracted up to 2,000 people at a time, making it easy for women to disappear.

Not realizing that the farm was being watched, law officers raided the farm on February 6, 2022. Robert was charged with two murders. By the time he saw a courtroom, his charges were up to twenty-seven counts of murder after police found bone segments, a freezer full of human flesh, and the victims’ personal items. He confessed to his cellmate, not knowing the man was an undercover cop, that he had killed 49. On December 9, 2007, the jury returned a verdict of life in prison with no chance of parole.
