Video game adaptations are as popular as ever, with series like “The Last of Us” dominating TV. Peacock’s upcoming adaptation of the hit game “Twisted Metal” has now released a new teaser trailer. It gives us our first look at Anthony Mackie’s character, John Doe. We also get a brief glimpse of “Sweet Tooth” in post-apocalypse Vegas.
The ten-episode first season stars Anthony Mackie, Stephanie Beatriz, Tahj Vaughans, Michael Carollo, Jared Bankens, Chelle Ramos, Thomas Haden Church, Scream franchise star Neve Campbell and more.
The series is “about a motor-mouthed outsider offered a chance at a better life, but only if he can successfully deliver a mysterious package across a post-apocalyptic wasteland. With the help of a badass axe-wielding car thief, he’ll face savage marauders driving vehicles of destruction and other dangers of the open road, including a deranged clown who drives an all too familiar ice cream truck.”
“Twisted Metal” will premiere exclusively on Peacock on July 27, 2023.
