In 2017, the indie horror What the Waters Left Behind debuted, receiving much love from the horror community. It’s been a year since its sequel, What the Waters Left Behind: Scars, was announced. Today the July release date has finally been revealed.
Niclas Onetti returned to direct the sequel, written by Camilio Zaffora. David Michigan, Mario Alarcon, Magui Bravi, and German Baudino star.
“The sequel tells the story of an Anglo-American indie rock band stranded in the desolate city of Epecuén. Their internal conflicts and the bad luck of their tour quickly fade when they begin to discover the bloody hell that awaits them.”
Scars has been making the rounds and gathering rave reviews during its recent international film festival tour, being an official selection at SITGES (Spain), Blood Window Film Festival (Argentina), Cinefantasy International Fantastic Film Festival (Brazil), The Boulder International Film Festival (USA), the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (Belgium) and the Obscura Film Festival (Germany).
Water the Waters Left Behind II: Scars, billed as “a frighteningly ferocious and unforgettable film,” is set to be released on July 18, 2023, on VOD, Blu-ray, and DVD, from Cleopatra Entertainment:
