Christopher Beatty’s award-winning psychological horror-thriller, Bibi, is next screening at the Dances With Films Film Festival on June 29, 2023. Ahead of its screening, we have the first trailer.
In the film, “Vivian Ashwood (Elizabeth Paige, Modern Love) is failing to cope after a tragic loss. Struggling to raise her daughter Bibi (Judith Ann DiMinni), she turns to prescription drugs and alcohol to soothe her anxieties and depression. Soon, the lines begin to blur between Vivian’s routine nightmare and her reality. A strange man begins stalking Vivian, causing her to unravel even further. Bibi, also devastated by the loss of her sister and upset at Vivian for not protecting them both, only makes Vivian more unsure of the truth. After continuous torment, Vivian searches for a way to protect herself and Bibi from the stalker by whatever means necessary.”
Beatty says, “My inspiration for writing BIBI was to create a beautiful, colorful world that contrasts as we venture off into Vivian’s complex mind with tragedy lurking at every corner. I intended to design a THINK film as my vision was to produce a timeless beauty, with artistic storytelling that truly journeys into the psychosis of Vivian Ashwood who is constantly tortured with the loss of a loved one. Capturing her fragility and bringing out a vulnerable yet masterful performance was a challenge I was always eager to navigate.”
Writer-director-producer Christopher Beatty will be in attendance at the screening along with cast members Elizabeth Paige, Judith Ann DiMinni, and Rick Zahn, executive producer Jaime Badaan, and cast member/producer Logan Hunter.
Bibi will show on Thursday, June 29th at 7:15 PM PDT at the TCL Chinese Theatre, 6925 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA, with a private reception following the screening at Yamashiro. You can get your tickets now.
