There are a ton of great movies heading your way this August, but what are the biggest, must-see movies? We’re glad you asked. We just happen to have a list.

 

Meg 2: The The Trench

Jing Wu, Cliff Curtis, Sienna Guillory, Skyler Samuels, Melissanthi Mahut, Shuya Sophia Cai, Kiran Sonia Sawar, Page Kennedy, and Sergio Peris-Mencheta also star in this action-packed thrill ride from director Ben Wheatley.

 

 

 

Talk To Me 

 

Starring Sophie WildeTalk To Me centers on Mia, a bereaved teenager who joins her group of friends in playing a game with an embalmed hand that opens up a door to the other side during a party, unleashing terrifying supernatural forces.

 

Talk To Me, now playing in theaters with rave reviews, was directed by Danny and Michael Philippou. Michael co-wrote the script with Bill Hinzman.

 

 

 

Last Voyage of the Demeter

 

The movie is based on a single chilling chapter, “The Captain’s Log,” from Bram Stoker’s classic novel Dracula, and tells the terrifying story of the merchant ship Demeter, which was chartered to carry private cargo—fifty unmarked wooden crates—from Carpathia to London.

 

André Øvredal (The Autopsy of Jane Doe, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark) directs the film, which debuts on August 11, 2023.

 

 

 

Haunting of the Queen Mary

 

The psychological horror explores the mysterious and violent events surrounding one family’s voyage on Halloween night,1938, and their interwoven destiny with another family onboard the infamous ocean liner present day.

 

Haunting of the Queen Mary is set to be released on August 18th.

 

 

 

The Boogeyman 

 

In the film, Lester Billin” s talks “to his psychiatrist about the “murders” of his three young children, describing the events of the past several years. His first two children died mysteriously of apparently unrelated causes (diagnosed as crib death and convulsions, respectively) when left alone in their bedrooms. The only common thing is that the children cried, “Boogeyman!” the closet door was found ajar after discovering their corpses, even though Billings is certain the door was shut.

 

Based on Stephen King’s 1973 short story of the same name, The Boogeyman, now playing in theaters, comes to Digital on August 29, 2023, and Blu-ray and DVD on October 10th, from Sony Home Entertainment.

 

 

 

Til Death Do Us Part

 

In the film, “After running away on her wedding day, a bride-to-be must fight for survival against her former fiancé and his seven deadly groomsmen. In the ultimate horror showdown, the groomsmen soon discover she has no intention of returning to the life she left behind.”

 

Directed by Emmy® Award Winner Timothy Woodward Jr., the film explores the grim reality that not every love story ends in a happily ever after. The film premieres in theaters on August 4, 2023.
