It’s that time of year when it’s getting cooler outside, rainy nights are becoming more frequent, and Halloween is on our minds. Two things that collide head-on this time of year are being cozy and getting spooky, and there’s no better way to experience this than reading spooky stories… by candlelight.
Reading by candlelight is a fun experience, especially if you like reading classic horror like I do, but it can come with some drawbacks. First, out of the box (or, in this case, tube), it did not seem like much with its size, but as soon as I turned it on, the light it gave off was quite impressive!
The Wick LED Candle uses the same tech as a touch lamp and has four light settings, with the brightest giving off the same amount of light as an oil lamp. The fourth light setting is a low light that pulsates/flickers like a real candle. The candle also has a heavy base with a rubber bottom so it’s not going anywhere when it’s set down, and a loophole so you can carry it like one of the unsuspecting narrators from 19th-century ghost stories looking to see what that noise was.
I can see other uses for the Wick LED Candle outside of reading as a potential light for inside a foam/plastic jack-o-lantern, a prop for a stage performance, or a photo shoot. Just like reading, you’re only limited by your imagination, but the biggest perk is that you can read by candlelight anywhere and safely.
