2023 has seen multiple Stephen King adaptations released, including The Boogeyman, whose director, Rob Savage, sat down with us for an interview. Several adaptations have already been announced for 2024, including Life of Chuck, The Monkey, Billy Summers, and Salem’s Lot.

A new King novel, a dark anthology titled You Like It Darker, which features a dozen tales of terror, is coming your way in 2024. It’s only a matter of time before some filmmaker will turn one or more of the tales into a movie or series. And we hope they do.

A few of the plots of the tales have already been revealed:

  • Two Talented Bastids “explores the long-hidden secret of the titular men and how they got their talents.”

  • Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream sees “a brief, unexpected psychic flash that disrupts the lives of dozens of people–and Danny’s life–catastrophically.”

  • The Dreamers centers on a Vietnam veteran who “responds to a job offer–and learns there are corners of the universe it would be better not to explore.”

  • The Answer Man asks: Is knowing the future a good or bad thing? And it reminds us “that a life marked by unbearable tragedy can still be important.”

  • Rattlesnakes is a prequel to King’s iconic rabies horror film, Cujo.

You Like It Darker, the eleventh King anthology, is set to be released in 2024. When the date is announced, we’ll let you know. In the meantime, check out Pet Semetary: Bloodlines, the newly released prequel to Stephen King’s iconic 1983 novel now streaming on Paramount+ from director Lindsey Anderson Beer, who discussed the film with us during our interview.
