Recently, there have been several new prequels released for classic horror films, including Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and Netflix’s Veronica prequel Sister Death. News has now come that a prequel to the 1976 classic The Omen is heading your way, titled The First Omen.
The first look has been conjured for the film, directed by Arkasha Stevenson (“Legion”), written by Ben Jacoby, and stars Nell Tiger Free, Tawfeek Barhom, Ralph Ineson, Sonia Braga, and Bill Nighy.
The original Omen franchise, which features four films and a TV series, centers on Damien Thorn, the antichrist. The First Omen will center on an American woman sent to the church in Rome who discovers the conspiracy to bring about the birth of the antichrist.
David S. Goyer and Keith Levine produce, with Tim Smith, Whitney Brown, and Gracie Wheelan executive producing.
