Award-nominated actor Christopher Abbott, whose most recent role was in Poor Things, is now set to star in Leigh Whannell’s Wolf Man, based on Universal’s classic.
In the film, Abbott will star as a man whose family is being terrorized by a lethal creature, leaving a trail of bodies in its wake.
This will mark Whannell’s second Universal Monster reboot, with The Invisible Man, starring Elisabeth Moss, being the first. This will be the fourth time he has teamed up with Blumhouse three times before, including for the films Upgrade, and Insidious Chapter 3. Reportedly, Whannell will also be behind the upcoming Escape from New York remake.
The film was written by Whannell and Corbett Tuck, Lauren Schuker Blum, and Rebecca Angelo (Dumb Money). Jason Blum is producing. The executive producers are Ryan Gosling, Ken Kao, Bea Sequeira, Mel Turner, and Whannell. Wolf Man is a Blumhouse and Motel Movies production.
Wolf Man is set to sink its teeth into theaters on Friday, October 25, 2024.
