Several new prequels have recently been released for classic horror films, including Pet Sematary: Bloodlines and Netflix’s Veronica prequel Sister Death. Next up is the new prequel to the 1976 classic The Omen, simply titled The First Omen.

Get ready to witness the origins of evil in this upcoming horror, which promises to unravel the sinister conspiracy that paved the way for Damien’s reign of terror.

Arkasha Stevenson (“Legion”) steps behind the camera, serving as director, guiding a talented cast that includes Nell Tiger Free (“Servant”), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Ralph Ineson (The Northman), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), and the enigmatic Bill Nighy. Prepare to delve into the story of a young American woman, drawn to the heart of the Vatican, unaware of the darkness that awaits. Unwittingly, she stumbles upon a chilling plot brewing within the Church’s hallowed walls – the orchestration of the Antichrist’s birth.

Drawing inspiration from the original The Omen franchise, with its legacy spanning four films and a TV series, The First Omen promises to shed new light on the terrifying legacy of the Antichrist. This time, the focus shifts to the forces who paved the way for his horrific ascent. Will they succeed in unleashing evil upon the world, or will this brave woman uncover the truth and thwart their chilling plan?

David S. Goyer and Keith Levine take the helm as producers, alongside Tim Smith, Whitney Brown, and Gracie Wheelan, who serve as executive producers.

The wait is almost over, with The First Omen set to unleash chilling supernatural horror in theaters nationwide on April 5, 2024, from 20th Century Studios.
