We’ve got good news for Friday the 13th, fans! Adrienne King, the original final girl who played Alice in the first two films, has hinted at a timeline for the deputy of the highly anticipated Peacock series “Crystal Lake.”
King recently shared a photo on Instagram with series writer/showrunner Bryan Fuller, indicating that production is progressing nicely. Though Peacock hasn’t officially confirmed a release date, King’s hashtag “#Coming2024” suggests fans can expect chills and thrills sometime in 2024 or early 2025. I will point out that there is a Friday, the 13th, in September, which would be an ideal premiere date.
This update follows King’s earlier Facebook post, where she teased her involvement in the series. The post featured the Scream Queen reclining in a canoe, reminiscent of Alice’s escape in the original film (pictured). Her presence will undoubtedly excite die-hard fans.
The Series:
Hailing from horror maestro Bryan Fuller, behind series like “American Gods” and “Hannibal,” and acclaimed studio A24, “Crystal Lake” was announced last Halloween, but details remain shrouded in mystery.
NBCUniversal Television and Streaming chief Susan Rovner emphasized the importance of “Friday the 13th” as a horror classic and her enthusiasm for Fuller’s vision alongside A24. While long-time fans eagerly await the series, they can rest assured that “Crystal Lake” is simmering and promises to deliver suspense and scares sooner rather than later.
So, prepare to return to camp, where danger lurks around every corner, and even Fridays aren’t safe. There is a poster for the series making its rounds. However, we could not confirm if it is authentic. Either way, it’s enough to get us excited.
Haven For Horror:
Peacock is becoming a haven for horror fans. It has been releasing a lot of horror series and Original movies lately, including Pet Sematary: Bloodlines, whose director Lindsey Anderson Beer sat down with for an interview. They also released the horror hit Five Nights at Freddy’s, the sequel of which has already been confirmed.
