A new spin on the teen slasher genre is here, Departing Seniors. As if high school wasn’t bad enough already, bodies begin to pile up, and a fight for survival ensues when a killer starts knocking off students one by one.
Not your average high school experience:
Javier, a Mexican-American and queer student, navigates the treacherous waters of high school cliques and prejudices. But when a bullying incident lands him in the hospital, his life takes a shocking turn. He develops visions – glimpses into gruesome murders about to unfold at his school.
Death and Dark Humor:
Departing Seniors throws in a hefty dose of humor with its sarcastic wit and complex characters, offering a fresh perspective on the genre. Think Scream meets Freaky, with a dash of social commentary and a diverse cast led by the talented Ignacio Diaz-Silverio as Javier and Ireon Roach as his best friend, Bianca.
Unmasking the killer:
Together, Javier and Bianca race against time to unmask the serial killer before he strikes again. Can they decipher the visions and navigate the treacherous social landscape in time?
Behind the scenes:
Directed by Clare Cooney (“Dead Man Walking”) and written by Jose Nateras (House of Mirrors), Departing Seniors boasts a talented team, including producers Kelly Ann Parker and Dashawna Wright. The film is distributed by Dark Sky Films.
Ignacio Diaz-Silvero, Ireon Roach, Yani Gellman, Maisie Merlock, Cameron Roberts, and Sasha Kuznetsov star in this fun flick.
