Get ready to see Lou Ferrigno in a whole new light! Variety has unveiled the first image of the iconic actor/bodybuilder as a cannibalistic pig farmer in the upcoming horror film The Hermit.
This marks Ferrigno’s first monstrous role since his legendary portrayal of the Incredible Hulk on the hit CBS series. He’s trading in his green rage for a darker hunger, taking on a terrifying new persona.
The film follows two teenagers, Lisa (Malina Weissman) and Eric (Anthony Turpel). The teens are on a forced vacation in the woods. Their teenage angst takes a backseat to terror when they stumble upon a remote farm. Inside, a gruesome scene awaits them – animal heads adorn the walls, hinting at the horrors that lie within. What unfolds next is a desperate fight for survival against a seemingly unstoppable cannibalistic pig farmer, who uses his “produce” to create a horrifying side hustle – human jerky.
The Hermit is by Italian filmmaker Salvatore Sclafani, Gerry Pass’s Chrome Entertainment, and Sclafani’s First Child Productions. Scatena and Rosner Films acquired the film and will launch international sales at the upcoming Cannes Marché du Film.
The Hermit promises to be a chilling addition to the horror genre. With Ferrigno’s imposing presence and a story that blends teenage folly with gruesome consequences, this film will indeed send shivers down your spine.
