The beloved video game franchise Borderlands explodes onto the silver screen this summer with a star-studded cast and a story that promises chaotic fun. And today, we’ve got the new character posters.

Directed by Eli Roth (Hostel, Death Wish), Borderlands takes us to the unforgiving planet of Pandora. It’s a lawless wasteland brimming with bandits, alien creatures, and untold riches. Here, we meet Lilith (Cate Blanchett), a legendary bounty hunter with a shrouded past. Lilith is tasked with finding the missing daughter of the universe’s most powerful villain, Atlas (Edgar Ramírez). She’s forced to return to her chaotic homeworld.

Lilith can’t go it alone. She assembles a motley crew of unlikely heroes, including Roland (Kevin Hart), a seasoned mercenary with his own agenda. Joining them is the explosive Tiny Tina (Ariana Greenblatt), a pre-teen demolitionist with a wild streak, and her fiercely loyal protector, Krieg (Florian Munteanu). Rounding out the team are Dr. Patricia Tannis (Jamie Lee Curtis), a brilliant scientist, and Claptrap (Jack Black), a wisecracking robot with a knack for trouble.

Together, this dysfunctional band of misfits must face off against a ruthless alien species and bloodthirsty bandits. But their quest for riches becomes a fight for survival as they uncover a dark secret that could threaten the entire universe’s fate.

Directed by Roth, Borderlands promises a wild ride packed with explosive action, dark humor, and dazzling visuals. Whether you’re a seasoned Vault Hunter or a newcomer to Pandora, get ready for an unforgettable cinematic experience. Borderlands opens in theaters on August 9th, 2024.

Roth has been busy. His movie franchise Hostel is getting a series adaptation starring acclaimed actor Paul Giamatti. You can learn more about that here.
