Do you remember 2022’s acrophobia-inducing thriller Fall, which found two women stuck atop a radio tower? The stars of Fall, which is getting a sequel, Virginia Gardner and Grace Caroline Currey, are reuniting for the remake of The Breed, Variety reports.
Get ready for a fresh take on canine carnage! Brothers Sean and Bryan Furst are directing the remake of the 2006 film, which we first reported on back in May. It is described as “an unconventional” retelling of the original.
Leading the charge is Grace Caroline Currey as Violet. Violet is a rebellious animal rights advocate drawn to a remote island to rescue abandoned dogs. However, her mission takes a terrifying turn when she and her companions encounter a pack of vicious canines. Joining Currey are Virginia Gardner and Page Kennedy (“The Meg”) – the perfect team to face this furry nightmare.
While the original film, directed by Nicholas Mastandrea and starring Michelle Rodriguez, didn’t achieve cult classic status, this remake promises a fresh perspective. Curmudgeon Films is behind the production, aiming to deliver an “adrenaline-fueled terror” experience.
Only time will tell if this reimagining of The Breed finds its place among horror hounds. With a talented cast and the promise of a unique spin on the killer dog trope, it’s sure to generate some barks of excitement.
If you somehow missed the original or want to rewatch it, The Breed is streaming free on Tubi. Here’s a look back at the trailer.
