Andrew Lincoln is best known for his long-running role as Rick Grimes on the zombie series (although they don’t call them zombies) “The Walking Dead” and its spin-off, “The Walking Dead: The Ones Who Live.” After facing off against the undead for years, Andrew Lincoln is finally set to star in a project that doesn’t involve flesh-eaters.
Lincoln is returning to his origins, British TV, for the first time in nearly fifteen years. He’s dipping his toes into a role in the thriller series “Cold Water.” Lincoln will play John, a seemingly ordinary dad harboring deep frustration about his boring life. His discontent intensifies when he and his family move to a small Scottish town. There, John forms a friendship with their new neighbor, Tommy (Ewen Bremner). However, John’s wife, Fiona (Indira Varma), grows suspicious of Tommy’s motives, sparking a twisted web of mystery.
“Cold Water” boasts an impressive team. Award-winning playwright David Ireland crafts the script, while Lincoln himself joins the executive producers. The cast also stars Eve Myles, who you will recognize from “Torchwood.”
While “Cold Water,” set to begin filming this year, ventures into a different genre than the walker-infested world of “The Walking Dead,” it retains a dark and suspenseful tone. This is an excellent opportunity for Lincoln’s fans to see him in a new light.
