The season finale of Evil, “Fear the End,” will air on August 22. While we are heartbroken to see this wonderfully dark series end, we are glad it existed. The series is one of my favorites; a mix of supernatural horrors and dark humor, it is a must-see. Like the cast and fans, we are still keeping our fingers crossed that the series will find a new home.
In case you don’t already know, “Evil” centers on a team of investigators for the Catholic church: Kristen Bouchard (Katja Herbers), Father David Acosta (Mike Colter), and Ben Shakir (Aasif Mandvi). They are tasked with finding out if events are supernatural or scientifically explainable. The team faces demons and deals with possessions, relics, and more with the help of family and friends. All while the series’ villain, Leland (Michael Emerson), is on a mission to bring the Antichrist into the world.
In episode 14, an ominous countdown begins after the Bouchard girls start a new game on their VR goggles. The Entity moves to stop the Sixty despite Sister Andrea’s warnings. The team receives an offer they never expected. Kristen faces a final threat as Leland takes matters into his own hands. Ahead of the finale’s premiere, we’ve got a fresh clip of Kristen and Liland having an electric encounter.
“Evil” exploded onto the scene in 2019, garnering a stellar 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its first season. TV Guide even hailed it as “the best show of 2021.” It also had four nominations at the Critics’ Choice Awards for Best Horror Series and performances by Katja Herbers, Mike Colter, and Michelle Monaghan.
