From director E.L. Katz (The Haunting of Bly Manor) comes the gripping new horror movie Azrael, featuring an all-star cast that includes Ready or Not’s Samara Weaving and Natathan Stweart-Jarrett (Candyman 2021). Earlier this month, we shared the trailer that teased a pulse-pounding movie set after the rapture. Today, we have the new poster and images that give you a taste of the many horrors to come.
Azreal is a dark tale of survival and sacrifice in a world where no one speaks. A mysterious, devout community lives in the forest, but there is a price for their existence. A woman, Azrael (Samara Weaving), is set to be an unwilling sacrifice to appease an ancient evil that resides deep within the wilderness. But she won’t give up without a fight.
The film sees Weaving unite with writer Simon Barrett (The Guest, You’re Next). Dan Kagan (California King), Dave Caplan (Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves), and Simon Barrett are producers. Jason Cloth (Ghostbusters: Afterlife) and Katrin Kissa (Captain Volkogonov Escaped) executive produce.
With its intense action, suspenseful atmosphere, chilling premise, and fantastic cast, the movie Azrael promises to be a must-watch for horror fans. The good news is, you don’t have to wait long to see it. It opens in select theaters on September 27 from IFC Films and Shudder.
