This October, the Max Original film Caddo Lake, from producer M. Night Shyamalan (Trap) and writer-directors Celine Held and Logan George (known for Servant), will unleash chills, thrills, and haunting mysteries.
Caddo Lake plays out against the haunting but stunning backdrop of the Southern bayou and back roads lined with cypress trees. It follows a series of past deaths and disappearances that come to light when an eight-year-old girl vanishes mysteriously. Long-buried truths and newly surfaced mysteries will forever alter the history of a broken family and those around them.
The story’s inspiration was born from a single photograph discovered online of the real Caddo Lake, which filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George became captivated by. This led the two to make numerous visits to the cypress forest, which straddles the border of Texas and Louisiana, leading to the film being shot over 2021 and 2022 in and around the town of Karnak, Texas.
The thriller features a talented cast that includes Dylan O’Brien (“Teen Wolf”), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Diana Hopper (“Goliath”), Caroline Falk (Caroline), and Sam Hennings (Four Good Days), with Eric Lange and Lauren Ambrose.
Caddo Lake is produced by M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan, Kara Durrett, and Josh Godfrey. Kimberly Steward, Harrison Huffman, and Will Greenfield are executive producers.
