Frost Pictures’ new horror thriller The Path, written and directed by Tom Archdeacon, held its West Coast red carpet theatrical premiere on September 19, ahead of its September release.

The film centers on a young woman who, after losing her parents, returns home to care for her younger sister and the family farm. Soon, she begins to experience strange and terrifying events. The woman and her sister discover the dark past linked to their childhood home. As tension builds, the young women also uncover the dark truths behind their parent’s deaths.

The Path, directed by Tom Archdeacon, stars Tess Hanna  (The Sighting, Highway to Havasu), Taylor Colwell (Gotham, Only Murders In The Building), Brian McManamon (Succession, American Horror Story), Alex MacNicoll (Brilliant Minds, The Society) and Archdeacon, who has a featured role in the film. Michael James Romeo, renowned guitarist from the progressive metal band Symphony X, created the score.

My goal was to make a truly scary film that delivers fright without cheap tropes and without blood and gore. I wanted to create subtle tensions and have them build from the opening moments until the end credits roll,” Archdeacon said in a statement.

Frost Pictures’ Brian Arnott produces, while Steve Karel and Spero Stamboulis negotiated the deal on behalf of Stonecutter Media. Additional producers include Timothy Evan Jones and executive producers Stephen J. Scanapicco, Justin Bristoll, Al DeBatto and Bob Hertlig. Directors of photography are Christopher Hewitson and Patrick Joseph Greene.

Witness this gripping tale, The Path premieres on VOD on September 24.
