HBO’s upcoming original film Caddo Lake, produced by M. Night Shyamalan (Trap), has unveiled a new unnerving and intense trailer.
Caddo Lake plays out against the haunting backdrop of the Southern bayou and back roads lined with cypress trees. It follows a series of past deaths and disappearances that come to light when an eight-year-old girl vanishes mysteriously. Long-buried truths and newly surfaced mysteries will forever alter the history of a broken family and those around them.
It stars Eliza Scanlen, Dylan O’Brien, Diana Hopper, Caroline Falk, and Sam Hennings. Eric Lange and Lauren Ambrose round out the cast.
The story’s inspiration was born from a single photograph discovered online of the real Caddo Lake, which filmmakers Celine Held and Logan George became captivated by. This led the two to make numerous visits to the cypress forest, which straddles the border of Texas and Louisiana, leading to the film being shot over 2021 and 2022 in and around the town of Karnak, Texas.
The thriller features a talented cast that includes Dylan O’Brien (“Teen Wolf”), Eliza Scanlen (Little Women), Diana Hopper (“Goliath”), Caroline Falk (Caroline), and Sam Hennings (Four Good Days), with Eric Lange and Lauren Ambrose.
Caddo Lake was written and directed by Celine Held and Logan George. Josh Godfrey, Kara Durrett, and Ashwin Rajan produced the film.
Don’t miss Caddo Lake when it premieres on Max on October 10, 2024.
