Shudder, the premium streaming service for horror, thrillers, and the supernatural, has acquired Sasha Rainbow‘s highly anticipated new horror movie Grafted.
Grafted, Rainbow’s feature debut, follows Wei, a scholarship student who travels to New Zealand to pursue her studies. Shy and introverted, Wei struggles to fit in with her glamorous cousin and her friends.
Driven by a desire to overcome a genetic facial birthmark, Wei delves into her late father’s research. She is focusing on a revolutionary skin grafting procedure. However, her experiments take a sinister turn, leading her down a dark path of obsession and violence.
The cast of this chilling tale includes “3 Body Problem” actress Jess Hong and Mark Mitchinson (Evil Dead Rise). It sees “Sweet Tooth” stars Jared Turner and Eden Hart reunite.
Director Sasha Rainbow has expressed excitement about partnering with Shudder. “For those of us who crave dark and twisted dreams, there’s no better place to unleash Grafted than with the curators of terror themselves.”
Murray Francis and Leela Menon produced the movie, and Fraser Brown was the executive producer. Shane Kelly from Mister Smith Entertainment negotiated the deal. Mister Smith Entertainment handles worldwide sales.
Prepare to be captivated by a chilling and thought-provoking movie that explores the lengths people will go to achieve perfection and reminds you that beauty is only skin deep. Grafted will make its North American debut on Shudder on January 24, 2025.
