Margaret Qualley, known for her roles in films like The Substance, Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time…in Hollywood, and Netflix’s series The Maid, is set to next star in Victorian Psycho, a psychological horror thriller directed by Zachary Wigon.
Based on Virginia Feito’s upcoming novel of the same name, Victorian Psycho will transport audiences to 1858. Winifred Notty (Qualley) is an eccentric young governess who arrives at the isolated Ensor House. As she takes on her duties, a sinister undercurrent begins to emerge. Winifred’s seemingly innocent demeanor hides a darker side, and as strange occurrences unfold within the manor, it becomes clear that she may be a threat to everyone around her.
‘As soon as I discovered this thoroughly insane and unforgettable character, I knew I had to introduce moviegoers to Winifred Notty. I am beyond thrilled that the utterly fearless Margaret Qualley will be bringing this complex antihero to vivid life. Virginia Feito’s screenplay is an audacious blend of psychodrama, satire, gore and mystery. With horror aficionado producer Dan Kagan and the support of Anton and Anonymous, I cannot wait to make Victorian Psycho.’ Wigon states.
Dan Kegan, Dan Kagan, Sebastien Raybaud, and Zachary Wigon produce, with Nick Shumaker and Bard Dorros executive producing.
The film marks Qualley and Wigon’s second collaboration, following their critically acclaimed 2022 film Sanctuary. The duo’s partnership promises to deliver another thought-provoking and disturbing cinematic experience.
