Yesterday, we shared an update on the series “Twisted Metal.” We now have an update on another gaming adaptation: Prime Video’s hit series “Fallout,” which is returning for a second season. According to Deadline, the series has added a new cast member: Macaulay Culkin, who will play a “mad scientist type.”

Culkin joins stars Ella PurnellAaron Moten, and Walton Goggins. The cast includes Kyle MacLachlan, Moisés Arias, Sarita Choudhury, Michael Emerson, Leslie Uggams, Frances Turner, Dave Register, Zach Cherry, Johnny Pemberton, and Rodrigo Luzzi.

Based on the gaming franchise, which has sold over 55 million copies, the series tells the story of  Lucy (Purnell). Lucy grew up sheltered in an underground vault after a nuclear apocalypse. She journeys on the blighted surface world, searching for her father, who raiders have captured. Along the way, she meets Maximus (Moten), a troubled surface world warrior, and the Ghoul (Goggins), a disfigured bounty hunter. Graham Wagner created the series with Geneva Robertson-Dworet. It is executive-produced by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy.

Fallout” his one of Prime Video’s most successful series, debuting at #1 on the Nielsen streaming chart with nearly 3 billion minutes watched. Season 1 earned 16 Emmy nominations, including Best Drama Series and Best Drama Actor for Goggins. It won one Creative Arts Emmy for Best Music Supervision and an Emmy Award for Best Emerging Media Program for its interactive promotional website “Fallout: Vault 33.”

Culkin is best known for his role as a child actor in films like Home Alone and My Girl. He has more recently appeared in the series “American Horror Story: Double Feature” and “The Righteous Gemstones.” Now, he is facing the post-apocalyptic world in “Fallout.”
