David Blue Garcia, the acclaimed director behind Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Tejano, is set to unleash a new horror upon the world with Zeus. This upcoming horror-thriller, produced by Mucho Mas Media, will introduce a terrifying Cane Corso as the main antagonist.
The film follows a group of friends who find themselves terrorized by the monstrous canine during a lakeside getaway. As the creature unleashes its primal instincts, the friends must fight for survival against this relentless predator.
Javier Chapa, Phillip Braun, and Robert Muñoz are producing Zeus. Highland Film Group handles worldwide rights and will launch sales at the American Film Market.
“The horror genre continues to thrive, ushering in a new era of exciting films,” said producer Javier Chapa. “We couldn’t imagine a better filmmaker than David Blue Garcia to bring Zeus to life—a character destined to become an iconic figure in the world of horror.”
To give perspective on the terrifying beast, Cane Corsos were initially developed to face legions as war dogs before becoming dogs used to protect livestock, be family guard dogs, and in boar hunting. With a massive head, Corso males weigh over 140 lbs in adulthood and are regularly featured on “most dangerous dog” lists due to their size, power, and disposition. You don’t want to piss one of these dogs off; they have a bite force of over 600-700 pounds per square inch, with their jaws being compared to that of lions. They can also reach speeds of 30mp. Good luck out running one.
With its talented director, thrilling premise, and a ferocious canine at its heart, Zeus is poised to become a new horror classic. We’ll keep you posted.
