Indie developer Montraluz, in partnership with publisher Tlön Industries, has revealed an all-new trailer for their upcoming surreal first-person, body-cam psychological horror game Dreamcore as part of today’s MIX Showcase.
The meme phenomenon The Backrooms inspires the game, specifically level 94, which takes players to an idyllic neighborhood that defies reality and breaks it with surreal horror.
Dreamcore sets players loose to explore many extraordinary, expansive worlds based around labyrinths of liminal spaces. Inspired by the “backrooms” memes, Dreamcore offers a unique experience to probe these nonlinear realms. Each world features a unique puzzle players must solve to locate its exit. Dreamcore is presented in a bodycam perspective with a found footage VHS aesthetic.
Players who want to take a dive into the Eternal Suburbia can play the Demo on STEAM from December 10th to the 31st! Dreamcore will be coming out in 2025 for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC.
