Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost, who recently starred in Black Cab, is back with Get Awaywhich he wrote and will star in. Described as a comedic slasher Get Away  follows a family on a vacation that goes horribly wrong.

In the film, the Smith family’s much-needed vacation to the remote Swedish island of Svalta takes a dark turn. They arrive during preparations for a mysterious local festival that celebrates a dark history. Unsettled by the unfriendly locals and strange rituals, they try to make the best of their trip. However, as the festival looms closer, the family realizes something far more sinister is unfolding—especially when they discover that a serial killer is on the loose.

The trailer teases a must-see movie featuring Frost’s iconic comedic style, morbid humor, murder, and town out to ruin the family’s good time. Aisling Bea (This Way Up), Sebastian Croft (Heartstopper), Maisie Ayres, and Eero Milonoff join Nick Frost in the cast.

The director of Get Away, Steffan Haars, has expressed his excitement for the project. “I am super hyped that ‘Get Away’ found its perfect partner in IFC Films and Shudder to bring the film to North American audiences. We can’t wait to invite everyone on this killer trip with the Smith family to the unwelcome island of Svälta.”

Nick Frost is best known for his multiple collaborations with filmmaker Edgar Wright and numerous films starring alongside Simon Pegg. Their first film, the zombie movie Shaun of the Dead, quickly became a cult classic after its release in 2004. It was followed by Hot Fuzz, an action-packed cop movie set in a rural English town. And let’s not forget the alien comedy Paul, which sees Frost and Pegg encounter an alien voiced by Seth Rogan.

From IFC Films and Shudder, Get Away opens in theaters nationwide on December 6 from IFC Films and Shudder.
