Sony Pictures has unveiled the final IMAX trailer for Kraven the Hunter. This R-rated standalone film delves into the origins of one of Marvel’s most iconic comic book villains.
Directed by J.C. Chandor, the film stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson as the titular character, a man driven by a relentless thirst for the hunt. The trailer offers a glimpse into Kraven’s complex relationship with his ruthless father, Nikolai Kravinoff, played by Russell Crowe. As Kraven embarks on a dangerous path of vengeance, he transforms into a formidable, feared, and respected Hunter.
The film also features a talented supporting cast, including Ariana DeBose, Fred Hechinger, Alessandro Nivola, and Christopher Abbott.
The character of Kraven the Hunter was created by writer Stan Lee and artist Steve Ditko. It first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #15 comic book, released in 1964, as an adversary to the beloved character, Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man. Kraven has also fought other heroes, including Black Panther. Villanry runs in the family. Kraven is the half-brother of the supervillain Chameleon and is a founding member of Marvel’s Sinister Six.
