Shepka Productions, in partnership with Flickering Myth, has announced the release of The Baby in the Basket, a chilling new gothic horror film.
Set in 1944, during the tumultuous backdrop of World War II, the film follows the sisters of St. Augustine’s, a secluded convent on a remote Scottish island. When a cloaked figure leaves a baby in a basket before vanishing into the night, their tranquil existence is shattered.
The nuns, led by Sister Agnes (Amber Doig-Thorne), reluctantly agree to care for the child until the storm passes. However, as unsettling occurrences unfold, Sister Agnes becomes convinced that the child is not what it seems. This leads her to question her sanity and the nature of evil.
The Baby in the Basket features a stellar cast, including Amber Doig-Thorne (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey). Michaela Longden (How to Kill Monsters), Elle O’Hara (Cara), and Lisa Riesner (No Dogs Allowed). Nathan Shepka (Dead Before They Wake) also stars alongside veteran British talent, including Annabelle Lanyon (Legend), Maryam d’Abo (The Living Daylights), and Paul Barber (The Full Monty).
Nathan Shepka and Andy Crane direct the film from a script by Tom Jolliffe (Cinderella’s Revenge, Renegades). Shepka Productions, Flickering Myth, and Hidden Ridge Productions produce it in association with Jolliffe Productions and Nerdly UK.
Witness a tale of horror when The Baby in the Basket is released on Digital and DVD on February 17th. Pre-order your UK copy of the DVD on Amazon or HMV.
