One of the most anticipated films screening at Sundance is the cult horror-thriller Opus, which will be making its world premiere. Opus is a captivating new film by writer and director Mark Anthony Green, who is making his feature film debut.
Opus features an all-star cast including Ayo Edebiri, John Malkovich, Juliette Lewis, Murray Bartlett, and Amber Midthunder. Stephanie Suganami, Young Mazino, and Tatanka Means round out the cast.
The tension-filled film centers on journalist Ariel Ecton (Ayo Edebiri) hunting down the story of a lifetime. Ariel is as shocked as anyone when she hears that eclectic superstar Alfred Moretti (John Malkovich) has emerged for the first time in three decades. He plans to share new music with a select group of celebrities and journalists. When Ariel receives an invitation to his compound, she is surprised and thrilled, but secrets and a twisted plan soon bring terror.
A24, known for horror masterpieces like Talk to Me, Heretic, and Hereditary, will unleash Opus in theaters nationwide following its festival run on March 14.
