Prepare for another epic clash! Following the phenomenal success of Troll, which became Netflix’s most popular non-English language film with 103 million views in 2021, Troll 2 is on its way. The first clip is here, revealing a “lean, mean, troll-killing machine.”

This time, the Norwegian armed forces are ready for the challenge, equipped with UV light-powered machinery. But will this stop a colossal creature formed from stone and earth?

Troll 2 revisits the world established in the first film, which drew inspiration from Norwegian folklore. In “Troll,” a railway construction project in the Dovre Mountains awakened a slumbering giant imprisoned for a thousand years. As the massive Troll wreaked havoc, the government enlisted the help of paleontology professor Nora Tidemann (Ine Marie Wilmann), her father (Gard B. Eidsvold), and a team of assistants to find a way to stop it before it reached Oslo.

Troll 2 introduces a new and even more dangerous troll, forcing Nora, political advisor Andreas Isaksen (Kim Falck), and former army captain — now Major — Kristoffer Holm (Mads Pettersen) into their most perilous mission yet. With the monster’s destructive path widening and time running out, they must overcome seemingly impossible odds to save their homeland from plunging into darkness.

The sequel reunites the original creative team, including director Roar Uthaug, writer Espen Aukan, and producers Espen Horn and Kristian Strand Sinkerud from Motion Blur. Returning cast members include Ine Marie Wilmann, Kim Falck, Mads Sjøgård Pettersenm, and Sara Khorami.

“Making ‘Troll’ was a lifelong dream come true, and the reception our Norwegian movie has received around the world has been unbelievable,” Uthaug told Netflix. “I am beyond excited that we now get to embark on the next journey of this great adventure.”

Troll 2 is set to be released later this year on Netflix. Watch the first clip now.
