The Black Demon: Atlantis, a sequel to the 2023 film starring Josh Lucas, topped AmAmazon’s charts for a week in 2023. The new installment aims to deliver more action and kills. It is directed by Ben Hernandez Bray (The Lincoln Lawyer, “S.W.A.T.”) and written by Aaron Benjamin and Boise Esquerra.
The Black Demon returns, bigger and more fierce. Undercover DEA agent Jerry Simms (Kesy) teams with his cellmate, Chato (Cedillo). They are in a maximum-security prison, stranded in the Pacific. They must find a way to stop a drug operation run by crime boss Diego Nunezt. The Black Demon attacks the prison. However, Diego unleashes his own sea predators. A monster clash ensues, and only the strongest will survive.
Javier Chapa and Phillip Braun produce for Mucho Mas Media. Jon Silk produces for Silk Mas. Highland Film Group also produces. Sherrese Clarke Soares, Robert Muñoz, Simon Wise, Bruce Barshop, and Vincent Cordero are executive producers.

Kesy recently wrapped The Pickup with Eddie Murphy and stars in Hellboy: The Crooked Man. He appeared in The Killer, The Outpost, and Without Remorse. His other credits include Deadpool 2, Baywatch, Horse Soldiers, Death Wish, and Juggernaut. He also appeared in the series “Claws” and “The Strain.”
The first movie was inspired by a legendary shark, the Black Demon, aka El Demonio Negro, which has been reported many times after being seen stalking the waters of the Sea of Cortez. It is recognizable for its enormous size (40+ feet) and stands out due to its unusual dark color. Is it real? We don’t know, but we hope so.
