Aviary Studios has announced its  Hello Stranger, part game, part movie, and all horror. Hello Stranger is set to be unleashed this May for PC on Steam.

Paul Raschid (The Complex, Five Dates) directed and wrote the game, which tells a chilling story. A man finds himself trapped in his smart home. A masked stranger forces him to play three games. His survival depends on it. Players make choices that determine his fate.

Hello Stranger features a stellar cast. It includes George Blagden (Vikings), Danny Griffin (Fate: The Winx Saga), Christina Wolfe (The Ark), Kulvinder Ghir (Foundation), Laura Whitmore (Queenie), Yasmin Finney (Heartstopper), and Derek Jacobi (Gladiator). The game was selected for the Dinard Film Festival 2024, where it was screened as a group gameplay event. It also appeared at the Red Sea Film Festival 2024.

Aviary Studios blends games and film. They use group gameplay cinema screenings. Their previous title, The Gallery, has been shown in cinemas in the UK, France, and China since September 2022.

Hello Stranger focuses on Cam, who lives his life exclusively through his smart home. His favorite thing? The Hello Stranger platform, a random video chat app. During his session he encounters a masked stranger. Cam ends the call, unnerved. However, the stranger has hacked his smart home. Now, Cam is now locked inside the house. And the stranger demands Cam win three games. Failure means “game over.” One wrong move can be fatal.

The game offers over four hours of filmed content. It features choice-based mechanics and mini-games. There are ten possible endings. Players must find all of them to uncover the whole story before it’s too late.
