As the Hell of a Summer movie tour kicks off today in Phoenix, we sat down with co-writers, co-directors, and stars Finn Wolfhard (“Stranger Things”) and Billy Bryk (Ghostbusters: Afterlife). Wolfhard and Bryk discuss pulling triple duty, the inspiration, and more. Watch the video below.
The film plunges audiences into the idyllic setting of Camp Pineway. Fred Hechinger stars as Jason Hochberg, a 24-year-old camp counselor who anticipates his biggest challenge will be connecting with his teenage colleagues. However, his expectations are violently upended when a masked killer begins systematically eliminating the counselors.
The ensemble cast further elevates the film’s appeal. D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, known for his work on “Reservation Dogs,” joins Hechinger and the co-directors. Abby Quinn from “Mad About You” and Pardis Saremi of “Career Opportunities in Murder and Mayhem” round out the talented cast.
NEON has moved up the original release date of Hell of a Summer from April 18 to April 4. Adding to the excitement, the cast is embarking on a “Hell of a Summer Tour” to drum up further anticipation.
