Journey into the heart of 1980s Midwestern terror. Dead Mail, a gripping horror-thriller from directors Joe DeBoer and Kyle McConaghy, is coming to Shudder. Following its acclaimed screenings at prestigious film festivals like SXSW and Sitges, the movie arrives just in time for Shudder’s “Halfway to Halloween” celebration.

The New Trailer
A Tale of Mystery and Mayhem

Dead Mail plunges viewers into a world of unsettling mystery and escalating violence. The film opens with a haunting scene: a bound and desperate man crawls along a desolate, windswept road, managing to slip a blood-soaked plea for help into a remote mailbox before a shadowy figure closes in.

The bloodied message finds its way to Jasper, a seasoned “dead letter” investigator working at a 1980s post office. Driven by a sense of duty and a morbid curiosity, Jasper investigates the letter’s origins. He is led down a dark, treacherous path, revealing a disturbing case involving a kidnapped keyboard engineer and his eccentric, enigmatic associate.

Sterling Macer Jr. delivers a compelling performance as Jasper, a man caught in a web of violence and intrigue. The film also features standout performances from John Fleck, Susan Piver, Micki Jackson, Tomas Boykin, and Nick Heyman, each contributing to its unsettling atmosphere.

The production of Dead Mail is backed by a talented team, with Zachary Weil and Brett Arndt serving as producers. The film also benefits from the expertise of executive producers Roy Lee, Steven Schneider, Adam Goldworm, and Susan Priver, ensuring a high level of cinematic quality.
