Just ahead of the release of Sinners, set to thrill audiences on April 18th, the ever-talented Michael B. Jordan has already set his sights on his next venture into the genre. Jordan has officially signed on to produce The House of Last Resort, a chilling adaptation of the bestselling 2024 high-concept horror novel by Christopher Golden.
Having acquired the movie rights to Golden’s unsettling tale, Jordan will take on producing duties through his own production company, Outlier Society.
In Sinners, which hits theaters this week, Jordan flexes his acting muscles in a dual role. He portrays twin brothers who return to their hometown only to discover that a sinister and powerful force has overrun it: vampires.
The House of Last Resort
So, what exactly is The House of Last Resort about? According to the novel’s synopsis, the story follows a young American couple who decide to shake up their lives and relocate to a seemingly idyllic Sicilian town. Lured by the mayor’s initiative to revitalize the dwindling community by selling abandoned homes to foreigners for the incredibly low price of a single Euro – a move mirroring a real-life trend in Italy and other European countries – they seize the opportunity for a fresh start.
However, their dream of a peaceful life in the Italian countryside soon turns dark and terrifying. They quickly discover that their new, unbelievably cheap home harbors deeply unsettling secrets. Beneath its charming exterior lie walled-up catacombs, and the very walls seem to whisper with a dark and forgotten history. It’s not just an old house; it’s a place steeped in something ancient and sinister.
Adding to the excitement for horror fans, the author Christopher Golden, known for his work on Hellboy: The Crooked Man and numerous other films, will write the screenplay for the adaptation and serve as a producer. Joining Michael B. Jordan in the producer’s chair are Elizabeth Raposo for Outlier Society and Peter Donaldson for Donaldson Media. The project is still in its early stages and has no distributor, director, or other cast members attached.

While fans eagerly await more news on The House of Last Resort, Michael B. Jordan‘s plate remains full.
