Buckle up for a tense and twisty ride! XYZ Films has just dropped the official trailer for Hallow Road, a brand-new psychological thriller already generating serious buzz. Starring Oscar nominee Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl) and Emmy winner Matthew Rhys (Perry Mason), the film made its world premiere at SXSW. It made a strong impression, and critics have been raving, giving it a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

A Tense Trailer

The trailer throws us headfirst into a frantic and desperate situation. Pike and Rhys star as worried parents who receive the kind of late-night phone call every parent dreads. Their teenage daughter, Alice (Megan McDonnell), has hit a pedestrian with her car on a dark and isolated road. Panic sets in as they race to reach their daughter before anyone else discovers the accident scene.

Things Get Complicated

As they race to the scene, they try to figure out how to protect Alice. However, the situation is further complicated as a mysterious stranger unexpectedly enters the picture. The trailer hints at a creeping sense of unease, suggesting that the accident might be just the tip of the iceberg.

Hallow Road is the latest offering from director Babak Anvari, the BAFTA-winning talent behind the acclaimed horror film Under the Shadow. He directs from a screenplay penned by William Gillies. The thriller blends character-driven suspense with a steadily building sense of dread.

The cast also includes Stephen Jones as the determined detective investigating the incident and Paul Tylark as a local officer. The film is produced by Lucan Toh of Two & Two Pictures, Ian Henry of London Film & TV, and Richard Bolger of Hail Mary Pictures, with financing from XYZ Films and Screen Ireland.

Worth the Wait

The trailer masterfully builds intrigue, suggesting that there’s far more to this story than a simple accident and a desperate cover-up. The presence of the mysterious stranger and the daughter’s increasingly frantic state hint at a deeper, more sinister undercurrent. With its strong reception, talented cast, and unexpected twists, Hallow Road looks set to be an unsettling thriller that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats until the last mile. Hollow Road arrives in the US this summer.
