Mucho Mas Releasing is pulling out all the stops for their upcoming flick, Rosario! They’ve cooked up creepy and immersive stunt activations happening right now and continuing into next week in select cities across the U.S.
Interactive Events
The first event occurred in New York City between April 22nd and 24th. Mucho Mas Releasing took over three apartments across the city to recreate the terrifying happenings inside “Grandma’s Apartment” from Rosario. These weren’t your average window displays, folks. Visible to anyone passing by in the West Village, Atlantic Ave., and Washington Heights, the apartments were transformed into terror. Think of them as little real-life horror movie scenes playing out right before your eyes!
So, from April 29th to May 3rd, if you’re in Los Angeles or San Diego, watch out for seemingly innocent Mother’s Day phone booth stations adorned with flowers. Don’t let the festive disguise fool you! Mucho Mas Releasing will set up their “1-800-ROSARIO” live immersive phone booth experiences. All passersby will be urged to leave a voice message for a maternal figure in their life. However, they’ll be greeted by a cryptic and downright unsettling voicemail instead.
Felip Vargas’ Chilling Vision
Rosario promises a chilling descent into familial horror, marking Felipe Vargas’ haunting feature directorial debut. The recently unleashed trailer has already sent shivers down spines. It is an eerie and downright terrifying glimpse into a world where the past refuses to stay buried and supernatural terrors reign supreme.
Emeraude Toubia takes on the role of Rosario. She is a successful stockbroker making waves on Wall Street. However, her meticulously constructed world is thrown into disarray when she’s forced to spend a terrifying night with the recently deceased body of her grandmother, Griselda. Adding to the already palpable unease. David Dastmalchian (Late Night with the Devil) portrays Joe, a watchful and undeniably unsettling neighbor. José Zúñiga plays Rosario’s father, Oscar. Diana Lein and Paul Ben-Victor round out the cast.
The film’s premise sets the stage for a claustrophobic and intensely suspenseful narrative that. One that will have you on the edge of your seat. A heavy and isolating snowstorm traps Rosario inside Griselda’s apartment. She is cut off from the outside world. This amplifies her growing dread with every passing moment. As the night stretches on, Rosario finds herself confronted by terrifying supernatural forces. She soon discovers the horrifying truth: she has become the target of a deadly and ancient family curse. She must confront the darkest and most deeply buried secrets of her family’s past to break free from this terrifying curse and save herself from a gruesome fate.
A New Terror-Filled Trailer
The trailer for Felipe Vargas’ film teases an oppressive atmosphere, blending elements of psychological horror with visceral supernatural terrors. Besides, this is not your average jump-scare horror film. It’s a deep and unsettling exploration of deeply buried family secrets, lingering trauma, and the terrifying and inescapable power of the past. The film’s narrative delves into the intricate complexities of familial relationships. It peels back the seemingly normal surfaces to reveal the dark and potentially deadly undercurrents that can lurk beneath.
Rosario is unleashing its curse in theaters on May 2nd, 2025. And if you happen to be in New York City today or this weekend, or in Los Angeles or San Diego next week, keep an eye out for those unsettling real-world activations – you might get a taste of the terror before it hits the big screen!
