Get ready for a raw, powerful, and deeply unsettling new horror film, as Bleeding is now available exclusively on SCREAMBOX! This isn’t your typical vampire flick. It’s a gritty, character-driven story that peels back the layers to reveal the real monsters lurking in the shadows.
Written and directed by the talented Andrew Bell, Bleeding promises to be a film that gets under your skin. Bell also produced the movie alongside Nicholas Payne Santos, Bofan Zhang, and Kenneth Green.
What’s It About?
The film follows Eric (John R. Howley), a 17-year-old grappling with the devastating grief of his brother’s death. His world takes an even darker turn when his cousin, Sean (Jasper Jones) – the hot-shot son of an alcoholic cop – gets entangled in the lucrative and deadly world of using and selling “Blood,” a drug made from the blood of vampires. Eric will do whatever it takes to save Sean from succumbing to the same fate that tragically consumed his brother.
With a mounting debt to a vicious dealer and no way to pay it back, Eric and Sean break into what they believe is an empty house. Instead, they discover a sleeping girl, Tori Wong, locked inside. What initially seems like an answer to their prayers quickly plunges them into new danger, unearthing a chilling link to their past and forcing revelations that will severely test the bonds of blood and friendship.
A Passion Project
Director Andrew Bell shared his personal connection to the film: “This is a story and issue that’s important to me and our team. These experiences shaped who we are. We set out to make something raw, and powerful, and honest. We wanted to tell you a story about vampires, but show that the real monsters were there all along, preying on the young, feeding off the people that trusted them most.”
Bleeding boasts impressive indie talent, with cinematography by Daniel Cho, editing by Bell himself, and a haunting score composed by Alex Symcox.
