Ryan Murphy first brought us “American Horror Story: Murder House” back in 2011 with a horde of installments of the anthology series to follow, from “Asylum” to “Coven” to “Freak Show”. We all have our favorite season. But odds are that season starred Sarah Paulson. And if that’s true, you are in for an exciting surprise. It looks like our favorite scream queen, Sarah Paulson, is officially making her highly anticipated return for the upcoming 13th season!

After being absent for four years (since Double Feature), fans have been desperate for Paulson to come back. It seems like their wishes have been granted. The confirmation comes directly from the source: series creator Ryan Murphy himself! A fan reached out to Murphy on social media about season 13. Murphy’s reply was short, sweet, and incredibly exciting: “Sarah Paulson and I are cooking up something cool!”

While “cool” is a bit vague, many long-time viewers are hoping this means a return to the chilling, grounded horror that made early seasons like Murder House and Asylum so iconic. Especially as some recent installments have strayed into more “wild” territory, and not in a good way.

As per usual with “American Horror Story,” the exact theme won’t be revealed until right before the premiere. With Sarah Paulson back in the fold and Ryan Murphy teasing something “cool,” we’re excited!

Since her absence from the series, Paulson starred in the chilling Hulu film Hold Your Breath, set during the Dust Bowl era. She also made an appearance on the series “The Bear.” She is incredibly talented, and in my opinion, the heart of “AHS,” it hasn’t been the same since her absence.
