Just a few days ago, we shared a new image from the upcoming movie Witchboard. Now, a new trailer has been conjured, teasing the terror that awaits us.

Highland Film Group has officially acquired the rights to this horror thriller, a fresh reimagining of the 1986 classic. To celebrate the announcement, the first trailer has been conjured, featuring the cast daring to use the infamous Witchboard!

A New Game, Deadly Consequences

In the movie, Emily (Madison Iseman) and Christian (Aaron Dominguez) open a cozy café in historic New Orleans. However, their exciting plans take a dark turn when Emily stumbles upon an ancient witch’s board, once used to summon spirits.

As Emily becomes dangerously obsessed with its power, Christian desperately seeks help from occult expert Alexander (Jamie Campbell Bower). However, Alexander harbors his dark secrets, pulling the couple deeper into the world of the occult. Soon, Emily and Christian find themselves in a desperate race against time. They must break the boarboard’s deadly curse before Emily becomes its next victim. Talk about a bad Yelp review for a new café!

Star-Studded Cast & Horror Royalty Behind the Camera

The cast features Jamie Campbell Bower (Stranger Things), Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home), and Aaron Dominguez (Only Murders in the Building). Charlie Tahan (Ozark) and Antonia Desplat (Shantaram) round out the cast.

Witchboard is directed by horror veteran Chuck Russell, known for his work on A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors and the 1988 remake of The Blob. This time, he co-wrote the script with Greg McKay.

Chuck Russell, Kade Vu, Greg McKay, and Bernie Gewissler produce alongside Gala Film’s Schiermeyer and John Paul Isham. Walter Josten and Marc Rousseau are executive producers, with Marc Cote co-producing.

Highland Film Group CEO Arianne Fraser describes Witchboard as “a chilling new take on a beloved horror classic. With slick looks, it’s a tribute to the practical effects-driven horror movies of the late 90s’90s beyond.” Highland Film Group COO Delphine Perrier added that “Chu”k Russell has expertly crafted a gripping and tense horror thriller that pulls its audience into the intoxicating dangers of the supernatural.”

Get ready to test your courage when Witchboard rolls into theaters on August 15, 2025!
