Back in May, we reported that RLJE Films and Shudder had acquired the worldwide rights to House of Eden, the highly anticipated feature film debut from content creators Kris Collins (KallMeKris) and Celina Myers (CelinaSpookyBoo). The two have since turned to their 75 million fans to let them pick the movie’s poster. And a winner has been chosen. The top-picked poster features a house behind a camera lens with a black snake wrapped around it.
What’s the Story?
In House of Eden, Kris, Celina, and their videographer, Jay (Jason-Christopher Mayer), are paranormal investigators, expecting the usual scares on their latest case. But things take a dark turn when they’re mysteriously rerouted to an abandoned house deep in the woods. There, they find themselves facing a malevolent force unlike anything they’ve ever encountered. As the night spirals into chaos, crew members vanish and eerie phenomena multiply, hinting at an ancient, sinister presence watching their every move. It sounds like a found-footage nightmare come true!
The film is written and directed by Kris Collins, who also stars alongside Celina Myers and Jason-Christopher Mayer. Collins, Myers, and Mayer also produced the film.
A Promising Partnership
Collins and Myers’ friendship is evident across their social media accounts, as they frequently collaborate on a variety of video types. Hopefully, their bond will add to the film’s charm and the relationship between their characters.
This acquisition comes hot on the heels of IFC Entertainment Group’s massive success with Clown in a Cornfield, which recently shattered box office records, even topping their 2024 record set by Late Night with the Devil.
Director Kris Collins is incredibly excited for fans to experience the film as intended. “I’m incredibly excited to team up with RLJE and Shudder to bring HOUSE ON EDEN to audiences exactly as it was meant to be experienced—immersively terrifying on the big screen,” Collins said. “With found-footage horror, there’s always an opportunity to explore fear through authenticity and immediacy, creating a uniquely chilling connection with the viewer. This partnership ensures that the scares we’ve crafted hit with full impact, delivering a cinematic nightmare that lingers long after the credits roll.”
Mark Ward, RLJE’s Chief Acquisition Officer, praised the creators’ unique approach: “Kris, Celina, and Jason look to the found-footage greats and wear their inspiration on their sleeves to craft a wholly unique addition to the sub-genre. As creators fluent in the language of both the internet and the occult, they blend real-world savvy with a genuine love for the eerie and unexplained to form HOUSE ON EDEN, which will pull audiences down an immersive descent into folklore that feels both modern and mythic.”
