Heads up, horror fans, we’ve got a movie you aren’t going to want to miss! Joseph Kahn, the director behind Detention, is making his triumphant return to the genre with a wild, fresh horror-comedy simply called ICK.
Get Ready for ‘The ICK’!
For almost two decades, a viscous, vine-like growth known simply as ‘The Ick’ has slowly crept into every nook and cranny of a small town. However, the residents of Eastbrook have remained remarkably unconcerned about its existence. The only exceptions are science teacher Hank (Brandon Routh) and his student Grace (Malina Weissman). These two unlikely heroes are thrown together when Grace’s mom, Staci (Mena Suvari), reveals a shocking secret and a mutual suspicion that The Ick is about to unleash some monstrous mayhem!
A Killer Soundtrack & Amazing Cast!
This film is driven by a pure punk spirit. The ICK trailer teases a fun and hilariously grotesque homage to throwback horror flicks, as well as an ode to Millennial nostalgia, perfectly manifested in its awesome soundtrack featuring bangers from The All-American Rejects, Paramore, and Blink-182.
The film is led by the trio of Brandon Routh (Superman Returns, Scott Pilgrim), Malina Weissman (Lemony Snicket’s Series of Unfortunate Events), and Mena Suvari (American Beauty, American Pie). The cast also includes Harrison Cone, Debra Wilson, Taia Sophia, Zeke Jones, and horror legend Jeffrey Fahey.
The Team Behind the Madness
The movie was written by Samuel Laskey (The Guardians of Justice (Will Save You!)), Joseph Kahn, and Dan Koontz (C.C. Unit). The film’s producers are Steven Schneider, Joseph Kahn, Peter Trinh, Joe Heath, David Kang, and Adi Shankar.
Ray Nutt, CEO of Fathom Events, is thrilled to bring the film to the big screen: “Fathom is thrilled to bring the award-winning creature feature and horror comedy, ICK, to the big screen. With the talented Joseph Kahn at the helm, a great cast, and an incredible rock soundtrack, the highly anticipated ICK is primed to have wide appeal to many fanbases and be a popular addition to the summer slate.”
Coming Soon to Theaters!
You’ll be able to catch ICK in select theaters for a one-week run starting Thursday, July 24th. After that, it expands to theaters nationwide from July 27th to the 29th! So, get your tickets now!. Don’t miss out on what looks like a hilariously grotesque ride!
