Horror fans, brace yourselves! Epic Pictures’ specialty horror label DREAD is bringing us Die’ced: Reloaded, a slasher flick that promises to drag you back to the gory 80s.

This film follows Benny, an infamous serial killer who busts out of an asylum on Halloween night. He then turns 1980s Seattle into his own personal, blood-soaked playground, with one young woman firmly in his sights.

A Slasher for the Ages

Writer/director Jeremy Rudd is bringing audiences back to “the gritty nostalgia of classic ‘80s and ‘90s slasher horror while blending it with modern horror.” He can’t wait for everyone to meet his “final girl, Cassandra, and our soon-to-be iconic villain, Benny.” Sounds like we’re in for a treat!

Die’ced: Reloaded builds on the story from the 2023 short film DIE’CED, which was a viral online hit with a cult following. Fans can now look forward to a deeper dive into this blood-soaked ‘80s universe. Get ready for a terrifying look into “Benjamin,” an unforgettable scarecrow-slasher with a murky past.

“Bigger, Meaner, Bloodier”

Patrick Ewald, CEO of Epic Pictures, saw the potential right away. “When I first saw the original short film by Jeremy Rudd, DIE’CED, I knew it had the potential to become something bigger, meaner, bloodier, and with an ever more unhinged killer, Benny.” He adds that DIE’CED: RELOADED is “exactly that.” Epic and Dread are “proud to have helped bring this savage vision to life and thrilled to unleash it on horror fans who crave brutal creativity and fearless filmmaking.”

The Gory Details

Here’s the official lowdown: It’s Seattle, Halloween night, 1987. Benny – an infamous serial killer long thought contained – breaks free from a high-security asylum, reborn behind a twisted scarecrow mask. As he leaves a trail of carnage across the suburbs. Whispers of his gruesome past resurface, fueling panic in a city soaked in neon and fear. But Benny isn’t just killing for pleasure – he’s hunting someone. A young woman unknowingly tied to the darkest chapter of his madness becomes his fixation, and the closer he gets, the bloodier it gets. Die’ced: Reloaded delivers a brutal, synth-drenched slasher soaked in 1980s nostalgia, where Benny carves his place in horror history – one body at a time.

The film is written and directed by Jeremy Rudd (Die’ced, The Fetus, City on a Hill). It stars Eden Campbell (Fear Street: Part Two – 1978, Z Nation), Jason Brooks ( Die’ced, Friday the 13th Vengeance 2: Bloodlines) and Nigel Vona (The Chronicles of Riddick, Chaos, Arrow).

If you’re ready for some serious throwback scares, Die’ced: Reloaded will have a limited theatrical run starting August 8th. Then, on August 12th, you can rent or buy it on video-on-demand !
