Get ready for some seriously unsettling vibes, horror fans! Neon has just unleashed a series of dark and cryptic teaser posters for Shelby Oaks. The film marks the feature film debut of popular YouTube film critic Chris Stuckmann.
The new trailer is set to be released on the internet on Monday. However, it’s already playing in theaters, attached to screenings of the film Together. So if you’re out catching that movie, keep an eye out for it!
What’s Shelby Oaks All About?
Shelby Oaks delves into the mystery of missing paranormal investigators and the dark legacy they uncovered. The story follows Mia as she desperately searches for her sister, Riley, 12 years after her disappearance.
As Mia uncovers new and disturbing clues about Riley’s disappearance, she begins to piece together evidence of a hidden, supernatural evil that stretches back to their childhood. Sounds like a deeply personal and terrifying journey!
A Star-Studded Cast and Record-Breaking Support
The film boasts a fantastic cast, including Camille Sullivan, Brendan Sexton III, Michael Beach, Robin Bartlett, Keith David, and Derek Mears, who played Swamp Thing in the 2019 series and Jason Voorhees in 2009’s Friday the 13th.
Adding to the buzz, Shelby Oaks holds the record as the highest-funded horror film in Kickstarter history, raising over an incredible $1.3 million! Following its hugely successful campaign, horror master Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass) joined the project as an executive producer through his company, Intrepid Pictures.
Teaser Posters
The new posters are dark, eerie, and foreboding. When viewed in order, we see a girl blurred by overexposure, stating, “You should be proud of her.” Next, we see a forest and the statement “The seed shall be sown.” Next is the farm and the words “All amidst the death and rot.” The final poster appears to possibly be an abandoned prison with the words “They all just stood there.” But what does it all mean? I’d be willing to bet that that will be revealed in the upcoming trailer or at least in the film. Either way, it’s unsettling and it’s got my attention.
This supernatural horror film, which features found footage elements, will arrive in theaters everywhere just ahead of Halloween on October 3rd.
