The married filmmaking duo Emily Bennett and Justin Brooks have just unveiled the striking new poster art for their second feature film, Blood Shine.

This chilling new movie is set to make its global debut at Popcorn Frights in Miami, Florida, on August 11th, before heading across the pond for its International Premiere at FrightFest in London on August 23rd. This follows their critically acclaimed first film, Alone With You, a psychological thriller that even snagged a 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Award!

What’s “Blood Shine” All About?

Set in the isolated expanse of upstate New York, Blood Shine centers on Clara (played by Bennett herself). She is a devout religious zealot who performs sacred rituals in worship of light. Things get twisted when Brighton West (David Call), a controversial horror director, heads upstate to finish his next screenplay. A chance encounter with Clara pulls him into a mind-bending world where faith, flesh, and the sublime collide. Inspired by classic British folk horror, Blood Shine promises jaw-dropping, practical gore effects from master artist Brian Spears (American Horror Story and Smile 2).

A Cast of Horror Favorites

Bennett, who also stars in the upcoming horror film Shelby Oaks, leads a powerful cast featuring genre veterans. Alongside her and David Call (Insidious: The Red Door, The Magicians), the film features Brendan Sexton III (Don’t Breathe 2, Russian Doll), indie horror icon Larry Fessenden (MaXXXine, You’re Next), and Toby Poser (Mother of Flies, Hellbender).

The Talented Team Behind the Scenes

Bennett and Brooks handled both the writing and directing duties for Blood Shine, with Brooks also serving as cinematographer. Alexander Schepsman, Zeus Kontoyannis for Zeus Pictures, Garrett Fennelly (), and Aaron B. Koontz (Revival, Shelby Oaks) for Paper Street Pictures produce. Paper Street’s Ashleigh Snead and Cameron Burns are co-producers. G. Riley Mills, Matt Sullivan, and Michael McFadden are Executive Producers.

Aaron B. Koontz of Paper Street Pictures will manage sales for Blood Shine. Get ready to witness the unsettling world very soon!
