Horror hounds, get ready for a month of mayhem! SCREAMBOX is dropping a seriously stacked lineup of new films this August, and it’s looking delightfully deranged.
Leading the charge in anticipation of The Toxic Avenger reboot (hitting theaters on August 29!), SCREAMBOX is bringing the original Lloyd Kaufman classic, all three of its sequels, and even the “Toxic Crusaders” cartoon to the platform on August 15. Get ready for a major dose of Toxie goodness!
But that’s not all the Troma love you’re getting. An additional 50 Troma cult classics are also joining the service on the same day. Prepare for a cinematic feast of the absurd with titles like Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead, Class of Nuke’ Em High (and its sequels!), Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Sgt. Kabukiman N.Y.P.D., Surf Nazis Must Die, Tromeo and Juliet, Terror Firmer, and even the early Trey Parker gem, as well as Cannibal! The Musical. It’s a Troma takeover!
Beyond the world of Tromaville, SCREAMBOX has even more horrifying treats in store. You can catch William Lustig’s slasher classic Maniac Cop, starring genre legends Tom Atkins and Bruce Campbell. For those with a strong stomach, Takashi Miike’s sadomasochistic gorefest Ichi the Killer is also on the menu. If you’re into irreverent horror-comedy, Frank Henenlotter’s Frankenhooker is a must-see. Plus, get ready to rock with the ’80s heavy metal horror flick Black Roses, and dive into the chilling web series “Serial,” which follows two killers on a collision course.
